in 2014 Serco Sodexo Defence Services lost all of their Garrison contracts with defence when a new national tender was let by the Australian Defence department. The joint venture was formally dissolved by Serco and Sodexo in 2015.
Position: Regional General Manager, NSW
September 2008 - August 2014. (Redundancy to due services contract with ADF ending)
This position had accountability for the full financial (+$60m opex) and operational management of the NSW sixteen business units under two Australian Defence Force garrison support contracts. My area of operations covered eight major defence bases including;

and remote units throughout regional NSW.
The NSW business had a large workforce (+1200) both blue and white collar spread over the sixteen operational areas. The prime responsibility of my position was to ensure the the profitable operation of these garrison contracts, while ensuring that all contractual deliverables were achieved in a safe and ethical manner. While delivering daily operations through my eight direct reports I was responsible for the strategic account management of these contracts with the Australian Defence department and supporting public service organisations. I had direct accountability for the Customer relationship not only at a national level but also local level. I dealt with senior public servants and the local Australian Defence Command on a daily basis. These contracts had a heavy compliance frame work with over 220 KPI's that required management and measurement on a monthly basis. In this position I was accountable to the SSDS CEO who was based in Brisbane. I was also accountable for the regions WHS responsibilities, Industrial Relations climate, and overall staff engagement strategies.
